Job Summary
Purchasing Assistant supports purchasing, procurement, and inventory processes by helping prepare and track purchase orders, coordinate with vendors on pricing and delivery, monitor inventory and coordinate replenishment, resolve discrepancies, and maintain purchasing records. Responsibilities include handling pricing accuracy, vendor communication, data entry and reporting, cost comparisons, and collaboration with Purchasing Manager, warehouse, sales, and accounting teams to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and operational efficiency. Key skills include vendor negotiation, data analysis, Excel proficiency, experience with purchasing systems (VISCO/QuickBooks a plus), and strong organizational and cross-departmental communication abilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience
- 2+ years of experience in a sales, marketing, or purchasing role within a sales-driven environment preferred
