Job Summary
Create, process, and track purchase orders from request through delivery for MRO parts, materials, and services required by maintenance and operations teams. Obtain vendor quotes, compare pricing, and coordinate purchasing requirements while communicating with suppliers regarding availability, lead times, and delivery schedules. Track open orders, follow up on delays, and resolve discrepancies in invoices, receiving, and pricing. Maintain accurate records in ERP systems, vendor databases, and Excel trackers, and assist with inventory-related purchasing and administrative reporting. Work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Warehouse, and Accounting personnel to ensure operational productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, including the ability to organize, sort, filter, and analyze purchasing data
- Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize multiple purchasing requests in a fast-paced operational environment
- Candidates should be able to reliably commute to the Carlsbad work location
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, materials management, inventory, MRO purchasing, or a related administrative function preferred
- Previous experience supporting MRO purchasing is highly desirable
- Experience within mining, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, construction, energy, oil & gas, or another asset-intensive environment is preferred
- Experience creating and tracking purchase orders preferred
- Familiarity with ERP, procurement, inventory, or purchasing systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Relocation candidates with relevant mining, industrial, MRO, or procurement experience are also encouraged to apply
