Job Summary
Analyze product demand and forecasts, adjust inventory and purchasing plans, and enter purchase orders into the business system. Assist planners with cycle counting, maintain inventory records, investigate discrepancies, and release work orders to production. Serve as a backup to the Traffic Clerk while performing other duties as assigned. This entry-level role supports the Purchasing and Planning Department at Valley Craft Industries, a local manufacturer of metal storage and material-handling products.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Inventory principles and concepts
- Moderate to strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Communication skills – listening and team building
- Strong customer focus with ability to effectively interact primarily with internal customers
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Problem solving/analysis
- Purchasing principles and concepts
- Knowledge of products
- Business system software
- Office system software – word processing, spreadsheets
Desired Qualifications
- Entry level, however related experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of Epicor business system is a plus
