Job Summary
Research and evaluate new vendors while enhancing existing relationships and establishing payment terms. Review requisitions for goods and services, place orders for consumables and inventory parts, and monitor expediting. Verify available funds with Finance on pre-paid orders and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and proper certification. Maintain records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, and inventories while working closely with Sales, Production, Logistics, and Finance. Assist in quoting material for in-house projects and sales solicitations. Confers with management to recommend changes in equipment utilization and production methods to improve efficiency. Travel as required and comply with all safety procedures and OSHA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old or older
- Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions
- Demonstrated time, priority, and stress management skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision and to take initiative
- Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations
- Must be able to apply common sense
- Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English
- Must have intermediate Microsoft computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and the ability to learn and be proficient in company-specific software
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs
- Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally
- Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
- Must be able to hear running machinery
- Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively
- Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination
- Must regularly be able to reach overhead
- Must regularly be able to squat, bend, twist and stand
- Must regularly be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of experience working with ERP systems
- Two (2) years of purchasing experience
- Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Travels as required
- Works overtime as needed
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience working in an aviation, industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge and / or experience in inventory control
- Previous experience with vendor / supplier management
