Job Summary
Partner with Project Managers to plan and execute purchasing strategies aligned with project estimates and timelines. Prepare, review, and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders while negotiating pricing and terms to protect company interests. Evaluate vendor proposals, track required documentation, and coordinate with internal teams on equipment and material needs. Maintain accurate data in project and cost systems to support estimating initiatives. This detail-oriented role requires prior experience in an electrical contractor or distributor setting with knowledge of electrical materials and procurement processes.
Required Qualifications
- Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proactive, collaborative mindset with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Prior experience working for an electrical contractor
- Prior experience working for an electrical distributor
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and procurement processes
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Vista/Viewpoint
- 2+ years of purchasing or project support experience in the electrical industry
- Commercial and/or industrial project experience
- Low voltage or wireless experience
- Mechanical / HVAC contractors or distributors experience
- Plumbing / piping contractors or distributors experience
- Fire protection / sprinkler systems experience
- Low-voltage, telecommunications, or structured cabling companies experience
