Job Summary
Conduct proactive estimating and purchasing activities across multiple residential construction projects, including vetting new contractors, analyzing market bids, and creating purchase orders in Buildertrend. Negotiate contracts, manage RFIs, and leverage historical pricing data to ensure projects meet budget demands while recommending value-engineered solutions. Collaborate with accounting, design, and field teams to maintain scopes of work, track vendor performance, and analyze total spend for efficiency improvements. Requires 2-4 years of estimating experience on $2+ million residential projects and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam. Full-time role with competitive compensation, bonus eligibility, and holiday pay.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, supply chain management
- Minimum of 2 years' related experience working on residential projects
- 2-4 years of estimating/purchasing experience
- Experience estimating/purchasing residential projects of $2+ million dollars
- Knowledge of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to analyze bids, proposals, estimates, including labor rates, fringe benefits, overhead, and profit
- Working knowledge of construction law and practices
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate with contractors, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization
- Thorough and attentive to details; organizational skills and can run multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to and from the project site
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
