Job Summary
Purchasing Agent responsible for evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, verifying purchases, coordinating deliveries, authorizing payments, attending industry trade shows to stay current on trends, and maintaining records. The role requires independent work, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and flexibility to work varying hours. Preference is given to candidates with a BS degree and 3-5 years of procurement experience in a construction setting; proficient in MS Office.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in related field preferred
- 3-5 years relevant work experience required
- Experience in procurement within a construction setting preferred
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve, and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision
- Ability to coordinate a variety of project simultaneously
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and creativity
- Working knowledge of MS Office software
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Regular and reliable attendance at work
