Job Summary
Purchasing Agent responsible for purchasing goods and services per company policies, assisting in setting up new vendors and terms, negotiating pricing and discounts, and coordinating with managers to maintain inventory. Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, and history; negotiates volume and cash-discount terms; ensures purchasing documents are complete and include appropriate terms; maintains pricing histories and vendor records; performs related duties as assigned; backup for other duties as needed. Skills include proficiency with Excel, Word, and Sage 100; strong verbal and written communication; negotiation, interpersonal and customer service abilities; organizational skills and attention to detail; thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- At least 2 years experience required
