Job Summary
Purchasing Agent (also called a Buyer or Procurement Specialist) responsible for sourcing and buying products, materials, or services the company needs. Key duties include evaluating suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and pricing, issuing purchase orders and tracking status, maintaining purchase records and inventory levels, coordinating with warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery, and building strong relationships with suppliers. Requires strong negotiation and communication skills, good analytical and decision-making abilities, attention to detail, and knowledge of procurement processes and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is often preferred, along with prior experience in purchasing or procurement.
