Job Summary
Owns the purchasing process from vendor research and RFQs/RFPs through contract negotiation and purchase order creation. Manages the full procurement cycle to achieve optimal cost, quality, and delivery outcomes; builds and maintains vendor relationships, monitors performance via scorecards, and identifies alternative sourcing options. Coordinates material requirements and delivery schedules to ensure inventory availability while minimizing cash outlay. Collaborates with APH departments to identify purchasing needs, supports budgeting, resolves procurement issues, and provides sourcing recommendations. Maintains accurate procurement records and ERP data, resolves vendor-related issues (late deliveries, shortages, payment discrepancies), and serves as a departmental backup as needed. Requires strong knowledge of procurement policies/procedures, SAP/ERP systems, and expertise in cost analysis, negotiations, and supplier management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Management, Business, Engineering, or another related field
- 3+ years’ experience in negotiating with vendors
- Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems in a manufacturing environment is required
