Job Summary
Purchasing Buyer responsible for leading acquisition processes for goods and services in a manufacturing setting. Acts as the primary liaison with suppliers, with authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements. Oversees supplier performance and contract closure, develops and negotiates procurement plans, issues RFQs/RFPs, analyzes responses, negotiates and awards contracts, and manages post-award activities. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliable, high-quality supplies and information, and implements strategies to optimize prices and delivery schedules while managing lead times and terms in line with procurement objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience in procurement and/or material control within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in purchasing systems and procedures
- Familiarity with Defense Acquisition Regulation (DAR) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
- Strong personal computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications
