Job Summary
Purchaser responsible for sourcing plants, seeds, soil, fertilizers, containers, and greenhouse supplies; maintain inventory levels and monitor product usage; communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules; track purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documentation; coordinate deliveries and verify shipment accuracy; work with greenhouse management to anticipate seasonal product needs; monitor product quality and address vendor issues; assist with budgeting and cost control efforts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous purchasing, inventory, greenhouse, agricultural, or retail experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of plants, greenhouse products, or horticulture preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in basic computer systems, email, and spreadsheets
- QuickBooks knowledge preferred
