Job Summary
Pupil Support Assistant (2) to work under the direction of a Class Teacher or senior staff to support children and young people identified as requiring additional support. You will assist individually, in class, or in small groups; contribute to planning/review for individual pupils; supervise self-administration of medication and provide personal care; carry out support programmes designed by visiting specialists (speech and language, physiotherapy, occupational therapy); support pupil mobility and movement handling; participate in roles related to safeguarding and registration with PVG/SSSC within required timelines; demonstrate teamwork, communication, and collaborative approaches to meet learners' needs.
Required Qualifications
- Good IT skills
- Experience of supporting young people with additional support needs
- Ability to register with SSSC within 6 months of taking up employment
- Complete required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL)
- National 5s or SCQF Level 4 or above
- NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6 or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6 or Professional Development Award in Education Support Assistance at SCQF Level 6 or equivalent
- PVG scheme membership via Disclosure Scotland within probation period
- SSSC registration within six months
