Job Summary
Open evergreen opportunity for Punjabi language professionals to support current and future foreign language and linguistic requirements across YSG and TU. Roles may include interpretation (in-person or virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, transcription, document review/editing, and language instruction in classroom or virtual settings. Positions are not tied to a specific client, project, organization, or location; candidates may be considered for a range of language support roles across the portfolio as needs arise. Travel may be required; some roles are remote or CONUS-based with remote operations supported at Huntsville, AL and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
Required Qualifications
- Category I (CAT I): ILR level 2+ English; local/third-country national options; security vetting by government personnel
- Category II (CAT II): ILR level 2+ English; U.S. citizens; security vetting; possible interim SECRET/SI access
- Category III (CAT III): ILR level 3 English; U.S. citizens with TOP SECRET clearance + SCI access or interim TS/SCI access
Desired Qualifications
- ILR level 2+ English proficiency (Category I, II or III)
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations English↔foreign language
- Consecutive and accurate interpretation
- Foreign language instruction experience for adults
- Experience translating written, electronic, audio, and video materials
- Ability to adapt to various linguistic support tasks (translation, interpretation, transcription, and instruction)
- Security vetting or clearance as required by task order (CAT I/II/III)
- Familiarity with local cultures and customs
- Ability to work in harsh environments and under high pressure
- Team-oriented, professional collaboration within a skilled linguistic team
- Proficiency in English and target language with attention to tone and register
- Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in English and foreign language related to government missions
- Willingness to potentially live/work in field or mission-driven assignments
- Experience delivering classroom or virtual language instruction
- Interpretation and translation maintaining accuracy without omissions or additions
