Job Summary
Pump Technician operates a service truck to pump septic tanks and dispose of non-hazardous waste, using vacuum equipment and performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections. Provides professional customer service, educates customers on system care, reports defects or hazards, completes paperwork accurately, and responds to trouble or emergency calls while following safety protocols and DOT regulations. Works independently on-site on a mid-day to evening shift (3:00PM-11:00PM) with competitive pay and benefits. CDL A or B is required (CDL tanker endorsement a plus), plus at least 1 year of commercial driving experience and the ability to drive manual transmission. The role is based in Montpelier, VT, with equal opportunity employment.
Required Qualifications
- Class A or B CDL
- Tanker Endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to drive manual transmission
- At least 1 year of professional commercial driving experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic computer literacy (email, internet)
- Must pass a DOT drug screen, physical exam, and road test
- Willingness to work in a drug-free environment
