Pump Tech - Layne

Pump Tech is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with water pump installation tasks and performing routine mechanical work for water wells. The role requires lifting and moving pipe and pump components up to 50 lbs (up to 100 lbs with assistance), collaborating with the crew, maintaining records of time and materials, assisting in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of water pumps, loading/unloading trucks, transporting equipment between sites, and setting up job sites to ensure timely project execution. The position involves outdoor work, potential travel up to 2 weeks at a time, and requires the ability to stand for long shifts. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to obtain a medical card, be willing to pursue a Class B CDL, have a clean driving record and reliable transportation, and possess good communication and organizational skills. Mechanical inclination and experience with hydraulic pumps are a plus, with safety and operating procedures emphasized in daily tasks.
