Job Summary
Provide daily direction and support to assembly team members while leading by example in hands-on mechanical and electro-mechanical product building. Assemble components and equipment using hand tools, read work instructions, and coordinate labor assignments to meet changing production priorities. Train and cross-train employees on assembly processes, quality expectations, and safety procedures, while monitoring productivity, attendance, and performance. Enter labor and inventory transactions into the production system, perform cycle counts, and conduct final quality inspections. Identify and resolve assembly, quality, or production problems quickly, communicate concerns to management, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area. Participate in daily meetings to communicate team priorities and resource needs.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, machine building, or a related production environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly skills
- Ability to understand work orders, assembly instructions, drawings, and production documentation
- Ability to prioritize work in a production environment where schedules and customer requirements may change quickly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to train, coach, and motivate production employees
- Quality-focused with strong attention to detail
- Willingness to remain hands-on and assist the team wherever needed
- Proficiency in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
- Proficiency in Food and Beverage Manufacturing
- Proficiency in Manufacturing Instruction (MI)
- Proficiency in Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Proficiency in Automotive Manufacturing Systems
- Proficiency in Aerospace Manufacturing
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous team lead, supervisor, or informal leadership experience
- Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electro-mechanical assembly
- Comfortable using hand tools, torque tools, wrenches, and basic measuring equipment
- Experience with inventory, work-order, ERP, or manufacturing tracking systems
