Job Summary
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of concrete pumps per DOT regulations, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, and hydraulic systems. Safely drive to assigned project sites using map books to ensure on-time service, then set up pumps and pump concrete per customer yardage requirements. Clean pump systems environmentally responsibly after completion and maintain project status via two-way radio, pagers, or cellular phones. Complete daily paperwork, collect monies if necessary, and call out daily start times. Perform additional duties such as driving ready mix trucks, assisting mechanics, or working at batch plants when not billed out. Maintain effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, and customers while promoting the company's professional image.
Required Qualifications
- Must have education or the equivalent experience, certificates, licenses, and registrations for pump operations
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to perform simple math such as addition and subtraction
- Must be able to handle cash and make change
- Must be able to deal with customers and other employees in a diplomatic manner in a variety of stressful situations
- Must safely operate pump truck and perform tasks that are congruent with company policy, and within state and federal laws
