Job Summary
Senior Pump Division Manager overseeing repair and service operations in Chesapeake, VA. Lead a diverse team (Project Managers, Machinists, Mechanics) in a state-of-the-art, fully air-conditioned facility. Responsibilities include daily shop production management, setting performance targets, coordinating resources across welding, machine shop, and quality control, managing departmental P&L including pricing, invoicing, and forecasting, investigating rework/delays with corrective actions, ensuring safety compliance, recruiting and mentoring personnel, and acting as the technical point of contact for customer visits and vendor communications. Requires 10+ years in pump repair/shop supervision, expertise in horizontal split case/overhung/vertical turbine/vertical centrifugal pumps, Lean/5S proficiency, and strong direct-report leadership. The role offers up to $150K salary depending on experience plus overtime, comprehensive benefits, PTO, ongoing training, and an air-conditioned shop.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years hands-on experience in pump repair and shop supervision
- Deep expertise in horizontal split case, overhung, vertical turbine, and vertical centrifugal pumps
- Proficient in MS Office and LEAN Manufacturing or 5S principles
- Proven ability to manage direct reports and maintain accountability in a fast-paced environment
