Pulmonary Function Technician

Conduct pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas draws, and analysis while producing accurate reports and expediting result interpretation. Maintain equipment in good working order, manage supplies with fiscal accountability, and ensure a clean, safe laboratory environment. Provide technical support to Cardiology and GI sections, supervise lab staff, document competency, and teach students basic PFT testing. Review lab procedures and results to ensure quality testing, enter charges through Eclipsys, and perform monthly environmental rounds for the Pulmonary Medicine department. Present ABG critical value audit results to management and fulfill all compliance responsibilities. Requires Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) credential and current BLS/ACLS certification.
