Job Summary

Provide direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients by obtaining health histories, performing physical examinations, and formulating treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, manage airways including intubation and extraglottic devices, and perform procedures such as chest tube insertions and dialysis catheter placements. Assess patient status changes, initiate emergency interventions, and participate in daily rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and journal clubs. Support clinical research, quality improvement activities, and staff education while serving in the on-call pool for call-outs. Interpret ABGs, CXRs, ultrasounds, and CT scans to formulate differential diagnoses and advanced care plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Acute Care Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a current license for the Georgia State Composite Board
  • 2 years of ICU experience
  • Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia
  • Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP)
  • Credentialed in all procedures, including intubations
  • Completion of a Difficult Airway Course
  • ACLS certification
  • Maintain CME hours and state license/national recertification
