Job Summary
Provide direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients by obtaining health histories, performing physical examinations, and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests. Order and perform therapeutic or diagnostic procedures including airway management, endotracheal intubation, and insertion of central venous and arterial catheters. Formulate and implement treatment plans for acute illness management in collaboration with attending physicians while assessing patients for status changes and instituting emergency interventions. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, quality improvement activities, and clinical research trials, and serve as an education consultant to nursing staff and the healthcare team. Work within the Critical Care Center of Excellence, attend journal club and grand rounds, and maintain state licensure and recertification.
Required Qualifications
- Current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing
- Master's degree in Acute Care Nursing
- Current license for the Georgia State Composite Board
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia
- Credentialed in all procedures, including intubations
- 2 years of ICU experience
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a Difficult Airway Course
- ACLS certification
- Ability to formulate a differential diagnosis, assessment, and plan for each patient
- Maintain CME hours and state license/national recertification
- Participate in the education and onboarding of new hires and fellows
