Job Summary
Manage critically ill adult patients by obtaining health histories, performing physical exams, and formulating treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, perform airway management including intubation and extraglottic devices, and insert/manage arterial and central venous catheters per protocols. Interface with monitoring equipment, educate staff and families, and participate in quality improvement, clinical research, and multidisciplinary rounds. Serve as a clinical expert providing education to nursing and the community while maintaining state licensure and CME hours. Work in the Pulmonary Critical Care unit at Piedmont Cartersville Hospital, requiring on-call availability and adherence to institutional guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing
- Master's degree in Acute Care Nursing
- Current license for the Georgia State Composite Board
- Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia
- Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP)
- Credentialed in all procedures, including intubations
- 2 years of ICU experience
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a Difficult Airway Course
- ACLS certification
- Ability to formulate a differential diagnosis, assessment, and plan for each patient
- Maintain CME hours and state license/national recertification
- Participate in the education and onboarding of new hires and fellows
