Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive medical services for patients in both practice and hospital settings, including history and physical examinations, routine health maintenance, and management of treatment programs based on assessment of needs. Initiate treatment via prescriptions, diagnostic tests, and procedures while reviewing lab results to plan actions. Provide regular communication with referring physicians, patients, and families, and participate in patient education, wellness habit teaching, and quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, and outside agencies to coordinate care and family counseling. Maintain knowledge of current medical practices, adhere to standardized orders, and ensure confidentiality of all patient materials.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency and/or fellowship in area of specialty
- Current or recent experience in area of specialty
- MD or DO - licensed by the state licensure board within the State of practice
- Board Certified/Eligible in the area of specialty by the appropriate medical board
- Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch
- Seeing as it relates to normal near, far, color, and peripheral vision
- Hearing as it relates to normal conversation and high and low frequencies
- Sitting for up to three (3) hours per day; three (3) hours at a time
- Standing for up to eight (8) hours per day; eight (8) hours at a time
- Walking for up to six (6) hours per day; one (1) hour at a time
- Frequent fingering, handling, grasping, twisting, and turning as it relates to therapeutic procedures
- Consistently lift, carry, and push objects up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally lift, carry, and push objects up to 75 pounds
- Rarely lifting with assistance, up to 100 pounds
- Rarely pushing and pulling patients weighing up to 300 pounds in a wheel chair or stretcher
- Occasionally stooping and bending
