Job Summary
Welcome patients, prepare them for exams and procedures, and ensure a warm, professional environment. Accurately record patient information, medical histories, and vital signs in electronic health records. Assist in collecting and processing specimens for laboratory analysis, provide educational information regarding procedures and preventative care, and help manage appointments and follow-up calls. You will handle prior authorization and check benefit information before any procedure, then provide patients with detailed test results. This full-time, day-shift role (8:00am to 4:30pm) requires a Certified Medical Assistant credential and BLS certification, with an opportunity to receive tuition reimbursement and comprehensive health benefits at Prime Healthcare.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting
- Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current
- Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting
