Job Summary
Execute detailed sales plans to achieve revenue targets for renewals, new sales, and Open Access agreements across institutional, corporate, and government accounts in the West U.S. and LATAM. Manage the sales agent in LATAM, handle a portfolio of products and services, and ensure pricing and licensing terms align with internal policies. Collaborate with Sales Operations, Finance, and Information Systems to provide accurate forecasting, prepare quotes, and record sales visit details using Salesforce. Contribute to regional publishing strategy by advising management on emerging trends, risks, and opportunities while representing APS at sales events and conferences. Attend meetings and conferences to strengthen brand visibility within the scholarly communications community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or five years of equivalent work experience in licensing, sales, scholarly publications and products or customer new business acquisition service
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in institutional sales and licensing of scholarly publications and products
- Experience in the physical sciences or other areas of STEM
- Advanced data analysis
- CRM proficiency
- Pipeline management
- Experience managing sales in Western U.S. and LATAM regions
- Experience supporting territory sales agents
- Advanced experience with and knowledge of scholarly communication
- Knowledge of academic library markets
- Knowledge of trends in research communities
- Knowledge of the forces currently shaping the journals publishing industry
