Job Summary
Perform manual labor and operate departmental equipment to maintain municipal properties, roads, and landscaping. Responsibilities include operating backhoes, jackhammers, chainsaws, mowing and trimming right of way, planting and fertilizing greenery, cleaning debris, repairing sidewalks and roadways, minor building repairs, traffic control, event setup, and assisting with sodding/landscaping. Requires basic math, reading simple sentences, ability to lift heavy weights, a valid driver’s license, and adherence to OSHA/ESG safety policies. Must be able to work in varied conditions and possibly overtime; safety training and teamwork emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months landscape experience (preferred)
- Valid state driver’s license
- Basic math ability
- Ability to read simple sentences and instructions
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform heavy physical exertion
- Willingness to work non-standard and overtime hours
- Familiarity with OSHA and ESG safety regulations
