Job Summary
Lead a crew in completing public works tasks including mowing grass, digging graves, repairing sewer lines, and operating equipment like backhoes, dump trucks, and tractors. Assign work areas to crew members while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Supervise landscaping duties such as planting trees, pruning shrubs, mulching, and watering. Locate sewer problems using specialized equipment to mark areas for digging, then clean and repair sewer lines, manholes, and catch basins. Perform periodic equipment inspections and make minor repairs to pipes and sprinklers. Mow and trim assigned property, remove brush and leaves, clean alleys and sidewalks, and plant or fertilize vegetation as directed. Complete required paperwork and attend safety classes to reinforce company policies. This role involves heavy physical exertion including lifting over 50 pounds, frequent standing and bending, and working non-standard or overtime hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid state driver's license
- Must meet minimum driving standards
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
- Must be able to exert over 100 pounds of force
