Job Summary
Public Services Associate II Floater supports multiple Indy Library locations, providing patron aid across reference, circulation, technology help, programming, and collection activities. Responsibilities include assisting with materials retrieval, reference inquiries, computer/digital services instruction, catalog/database use, creating displays, compiling statistics, and delivering applied programming within branches. Requires an Associate’s degree or Library Technical Assistant degree and relevant certification progression; ability to work day/evening/weekend hours including Sundays; willingness to travel between IndyPL branches; strong computer skills (Word, Excel, internet) and bilingual ability preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or Library Technical Assistant Degree
- Indiana State Librarian Certificate 5 – Professional Assistant; or working towards certification
- Ability to work in multiple locations throughout the Indy PL system
- Be available to work day, evening, and weekend hours - including at least 6 Sundays per year
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, internet browsing
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Assists patrons with library services
- Reference and research assistance

- Wandsing, weeding, displays
