Job Summary
Assists patrons with library services, including finding materials, providing quick and in-depth reference assistance, and guiding users in computer and digital services. Delivers circulation support, develops, promotes, and presents programming within the branch and community, assists with collection management (weeding, reports, displays), and records usage statistics. Requires ability to work across multiple IndyPL locations, day/evening/weekend hours (including Sundays), and proficiency with basic computer functions; bilingual ability is preferred. Located in Indianapolis, this full-time floater role supports West Region branches with service, programming, and outreach.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or Library Technical Assistant Degree
- Indiana State Librarian Certificate 5 – Professional Assistant; or working towards certification
- ability to work in multiple locations throughout the Indy PL system
- available to work day, evening, and weekend hours - including at least 6 Sundays per year
- ability to navigate basic computer functions (Microsoft Word, Excel, internet browsing)
- bilingual (preferred but not required)
