Job Summary
Public Service Assistant performs office and field duties supporting sworn law enforcement deputies, including road/beach patrol, non-criminal law enforcement, traffic control, escort details, and special administrative assignments. Responsibilities include report writing, routine patrols, handling noise complaints, responding to crash scenes, and executing tasks directed by the Sheriff, Division Directors, and PSA Coordinator. Requires a High School diploma, 25 WPM typing, valid Florida driver's license, basic Word and office equipment knowledge, familiarity with local county codes and statutes, and the ability to operate standard office and radio equipment; capable of administering basic CPR. Work involves outdoor exposure, weekend/evening/holiday hours, and potential safety hazards; physical tasks include lifting up to 40 lbs and maintaining situational awareness.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate
- Type 25 WPM accurately
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
