Job Summary
Public Safety Unarmed I position in Burlington, WI (part-time, 20 hours/week) focusing on security services with a customer-service approach. Responsibilities include interior and exterior patrols, inspections for hazards, patient valuables management, contraband searches, traffic control, de-escalation, incident investigations, and coordination with law enforcement. Requires CHSO certification within two years, Illinois FOID or Wisconsin CCW as applicable, TASER certification within 90 days, HS diploma or GED, and typically 1 year of related experience. The role emphasizes professionalism, safety compliance, reporting, and collaboration with medical staff to maintain a safe, welcoming environment. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) issued by IAHSS (must be obtained within two years of appointment)
- Valid driver’s license (Illinois)
- FOID (Firearm Owners Identification Card) for Illinois teammates
- CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) for Wisconsin teammates
- Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon (TASER) use within 90 days of hire and periodically thereafter
- Typically 1 year of experience in security/public safety or related customer-service role
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, pre-placement physical and required physicals
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and to push/pull 35 lbs
- 20/20 vision or corrected to 20/20
- Ability to work in a healthcare environment with de-escalation and safety procedures
- Comfort with responding to emergencies and coordinating with law enforcement
- Strong communication and customer-service orientation
- Knowledge of safety protocols and life-safety procedures
