Job Summary
Receives and dispatches emergency and non-emergency calls via voice, text, messaging, and TTY/TTD for law enforcement, fire, rescue, and medical services. Answers 911 and administrative lines, screens incoming requests, and verifies caller information using PSAP infrastructure and E911 protocols. Inputs call data into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and operates two-way radios to relay instructions to remote units. Assists callers using the Medical Priority Dispatch System, coordinates multi-agency responses, and provides pre-arrival instructions. Maintains proficiency in manual backup systems and contingency plans for CAD, radio, and ProQA software failures. Coordinates all non-emergency/scheduled transports for Stokes County while adhering to NCOEMS and IAED accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must maintain at or above North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services (NCOEMS) performance standards for EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch), EFD (Emergency Fire Dispatch, and EPD (Emergency Police Dispatch)
- Must maintain proficiency in manual back-up systems and contingency plans for CAD, Radio, E911 phone, and ProQA software failures
