Job Summary
Oversee daily Public Safety operations for the entire Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, ensuring successful completion of individual and teamwork tasks in support of departmental goals. Model positive leadership behavior while supervising staff to maintain active State of Florida Security Officer Licensure (Class D and G) and IAHSS certifications. Manage team activities with emphasis on decision-making, problem-solving, and diplomatic handling of difficult situations. Complete mandatory background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Required Qualifications
- Class D - Security Officer Licensure within six (6) months of hire/promotion date
- Class G - Armed Security Officer Licensure within six (6) months of hire/promotion date
- minimum of five (5) years of experience in security, military, law enforcement or related field
- at least three (3) years in a leadership/supervisory role
- IAHSS Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO)
- IAHSS Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO)
- IAHSS Certified Security Supervisor (CHSS)
- Instructor certification in a minimum of two (additional certifications preferred) disciplines related to the Public Safety field
- International Board for Certification of Safety Managers, Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP)
- Valid Driver's License
