Job Summary
Conduct regular patrols of the convention center's interior and exterior to maintain security and monitor crime or vandalism. Greet employees and guests while verifying identities, and operate security cameras, radios, and access control systems. Respond immediately to alarms and safety calls, assisting with evacuations and injuries as needed. Document all incidents, malfunctions, and visitor movements in logs and incident reports. Enforce parking and traffic control, log keys and badges, and communicate status with management during emergencies. Work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment requiring physical stamina and crisis decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalency
- 1-2 years of related work experience
- Ability to read, write and communicate fully and fluently in English
- Valid driver's license
- Friendly, diplomatic, and outgoing attitude
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to work in all variations of outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to effectively perform and respond in crisis situations
- Ability to work under pressure without the loss of composure
- Sound reasoning and maturity in decision-making
- Ability to memorize, recollect, and quickly retrieve relevant information
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
- Ability to apply independent judgment and discretion
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolution of security-related matters
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment

Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in the public safety/security field
- Monitoring a large CCTV network
- Familiarity with camera operations and video retrieval
