Public Safety Officer

Public Safety Officer for UVA Community Health, responsible for providing a safe and secure environment across hospital, outpatient locations, and provider offices; role requires responding to security needs, controlling patient and visitor traffic in the Emergency Department, and performing security patrols. Night shift 6p–6a with weekend rotations; on-call travel between campus facilities may be required. Eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Public interactions work experience; healthcare security experience preferred. Licensure: valid driver’s license; CPI certification within 6 months of hire; IA HSS Basic Security Officer Certification within 6 months of hire. Additional requirements include basic computer skills, ability to translate observations into legible reports, no criminal record, and compliance with vehicle-use policies; driving records will be reviewed.
