Job Summary
Patrol Library-owned property, both inside and on perimeters, while conducting monthly inspections and examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure security. Create incident reports tracking safety concerns and generate maintenance requests for identified issues. Enforce Library rules by issuing warnings and evicting violators, while activating and deactivating security alarms. Respond to public safety matters after hours and notify Police and Fire Departments during emergencies. Maintain alertness for long periods and adhere to the chain of command. Schedule includes Monday through Wednesday 12PM-8:30PM, Thursday off, and Friday through Saturday 8:30AM-5:30PM with rotating Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Security License required through St. Louis City/County Police Department
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of customer service principles
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, and national security operations for the protection of people, data, and property
- Able to recall events including people and objects
- Able to remain alert for long periods of time
- Able to adhere to the chain of command
- Customer service experience
- Monday - Wednesday 12PM-8:30PM, Thursday OFF, Friday and Saturday 8:30AM-5:30PM. Rotating Saturdays
