Job Summary
Conduct routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. Serve as the first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility, managing the safe de-escalation of critical events and engaging with combative or escalating subjects using sound judgment. Maintain a valid driver's license adhering to the Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy, obtain IAHSS Security Officer certification within one year, and pass pre-employment psychological screening. Complete mandatory training in Taser, ASP Baton, and Mental Health First Aid, and hold Georgia P.O.S.T. certification if preferred. This role offers schedule flexibility for the Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital team.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire
- IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year
- Must pass pre-employment psychological screening
- Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years experience in general security, military or other public safety experience
- Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification
