Public Safety Officer II Lead

Job Summary
Oversee daily operations across three Sarasota County campuses, supervising front-line Public Safety staff and ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and property. Manage access control to sensitive areas, monitor CCTV systems, and investigate security incidents involving persons or assets. Control vehicular and pedestrian traffic on-site and coordinate with outside agencies during special events like parades or construction. Resolve conflicts with patients, staff, and visitors while demonstrating excellent customer service skills. Handle hazardous situations by formulating and executing proper response plans. Maintain active Class D and Class G security licensures, obtain required IAHSS certifications within designated timeframes, and pass a psychological evaluation. Work flexible shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO)
- Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO)
- Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS)
- Class D - Security Officer Licensure
- Class G - Armed Security Officer Licensure
- Flexibility in work schedule with the ability to work on other shifts when needed
- Favorable driving record
- Background check
- Successful completion of Armed Officer Psychological Evaluation administered by a Board-Certified Police Psychologist
- High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
- Valid Driver's License

- Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a professional, confident demeanor in stressful situations
- Competency in the use of computers
- Ability to perform duties independently and with good judgment
