Public Safety Officer I - Day Shift

Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain driving privileges in accordance with Johns Hopkins Health System requirements
• Must be at least 21 years old to apply. Exceptions may be considered for candidates with military, law enforcement, or comparable healthcare security experience
• Successful completion of post-hire training and certification requirements, including CPR, Stop the Bleed, Narcan, and De-escalation training
• Possession of a Florida Security "D" License or the ability to obtain the license within 180 days of employment
• Driving Eligibility Requirements: Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and a SambaSafety risk assessment with specified point limits
• Both assessments completed separately; failure to meet requirements results in disqualification
• Preferred qualifications: One year of security, healthcare security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience
• Additional education or coursework in security, law enforcement, criminal justice, or healthcare-related fields
• Healthcare security certifications such as CHSO or CHPA
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: strong communication, ability to stay calm during emergencies, customer service, conflict resolution, teamwork in healthcare environment
• Physical Requirements: stand/walk for extended periods, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, restraining/assisting potentially aggressive individuals
