Job Summary
Public Safety Officer I at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital – Day Shift. Patrol hospital areas, monitor surveillance, respond to emergencies, provide escorts, screening, and customer service; enforce safety policies; complete incident reports; collaborate with clinical staff and responders; maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain driving privileges in accordance with Johns Hopkins Health System requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old to apply. Exceptions may be considered for candidates with military, law enforcement, or comparable healthcare security experience
- Successful completion of post-hire training and certification requirements, including CPR, Stop the Bleed, Narcan, and De-escalation training
- Possession of a Florida Security "D" License or the ability to obtain the license within 180 days of employment
- Driving Eligibility Requirements: Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and a SambaSafety risk assessment with specified point limits
- Both assessments completed separately; failure to meet requirements results in disqualification
- Preferred qualifications: One year of security, healthcare security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience
- Additional education or coursework in security, law enforcement, criminal justice, or healthcare-related fields
- Healthcare security certifications such as CHSO or CHPA
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: strong communication, ability to stay calm during emergencies, customer service, conflict resolution, teamwork in healthcare environment
- Physical Requirements: stand/walk for extended periods, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, restraining/assisting potentially aggressive individuals
