Job Summary
Conduct routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. Serve as first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility, managing safe de-escalation of critical events and engaging combative subjects with sound judgment. Carry a company-issued firearm, Taser, and baton, maintaining all required certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, and Mental Health First Aid. Work nights at Eastside Medical Center; must hold a valid driver's license, possess two years of public safety or military experience, and pass a psychological screening.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty
- equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire
- IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year
- Must pass pre-employment psychological screening
- Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed
Desired Qualifications
- Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification
