Job Summary
Public Safety K-9 Armed Officer responsible for conducting canine-assisted security patrols at hospital entrances and critical areas, safeguarding patients, staff, and visitors. Requires K-9 certification, armed security credentials, and compliance with state-specific licensing; duties include responding to incidents, de-escalation, coordination with law enforcement, training, and maintaining canine equipment and vehicles. 40-hour week with a night schedule (11pm-7am) and full benefits; includes liaison with EMS and clinical areas and delivering security education to staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- K-9 Certification through International Police Work Dog Association
- Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) by IAHSS
- Armed Guard License (for IL/others as applicable)
- Possession of valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass background/drug screen/physical/psychological assessments
