Job Summary
Public Safety Assistant - Terminal Services is a non-sworn uniformed role responsible for parking enforcement, directing traffic flow in front of terminal buildings, enforcing parking regulations, supporting the Airport Master Security Plan, directing customer flow up to TSA ticket document check positions, monitoring and adjusting queue lanes to optimize wait times, and serving as a Customer Service Representative for directions. The role includes specialized training for lost and found retrieval and requires interaction with the airport community, KCAB, air carriers, and the Transportation Security Administration. Educational requirement is a High School Diploma or GED with related security/customer service experience. A valid driver’s license and SIDA clearance are required. Skills include clear oral and written communication, relationship-building, and proficiency with hand-held metal detectors.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Related work experience in law enforcement, security, airport, military and/or customer service involving direct contact with customers
- Valid Driver’s License
- Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance
- Knowledge of proper identification as prescribed by Kenton County Airport Board
- Customer service
- Clear communication skills
- Demonstrated skill in use of hand held metal detector
