Job Summary

Public Safety Assistant II provides uniformed security, patrols facilities, assists in investigations, drafts incident reports, and maintains equipment and uniforms while upholding DPS policies and BSIS guard-card guidelines. The role emphasizes liaison with Sergeants, training PSAs, emergency response, information dissemination, and ensuring safety and confidentiality across tribal facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum two (2) years of security experience required
  • Minimum one (1) year of security supervisory experience preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • BSIS guard card per BSIS requirements
  • Complete in-house PSA academy (3 weeks)
  • Complete Field Training Program (3 weeks) and 180-day probation
  • First Aid Certification required
  • CPR certification required
  • Weaponless Defense Techniques training preferred
  • Authorized Driver: driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles; valid license with acceptable driving record
