Job Summary
Conduct media coverage round-ups, distribute content, and create internal reports for the board of directors. Write family stories, staff spotlights, and other content for Youth Villages channels while managing media lists, databases, and monitoring coverage. Assist the PR team with administrative duties including printing, purchasing supplies, travel planning, and event logistics. Take photos at internal and external events as needed. Enrolled in a bachelor-level public relations or journalism program with newswriting experience. In-office position in Bartlett, Tennessee with flexible hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in bachelor-level or above studies in public relations or journalism or have completed a degree in those fields.
- Must have successfully completed a newswriting course or have equal experience in PR/newswriting.
- Ability to apply high degree of computer skills including knowledge of hardware capabilities, word processing, data base management, and desk top publishing.
- Ability to use a calculator and other office equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple agendas with a minimum of supervision and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to apply skills in English grammar, punctuation, newswriting, Associated Press style and proofreading.
- Ability to maintain flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to apply skills in teamwork.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
