Job Summary
Develop and execute integrated PR strategies to support market-facing corporate and product narrative development across HCP, patient, scientific, and industry stakeholder audiences. Manage drafting and distribution of press releases, media statements, and external announcements while building relationships with media outlets, health journalists, and patient advocacy organizations. Serve as the primary point of contact for social media communications, leading strategy and content calendar development across all Cook MyoSite accounts. Monitor key metrics for PR and social media, reporting regularly on media mentions, sentiment, and engagement. Coordinate responses to media inquiries and crisis communications in accordance with legal, regulatory, and MLR review processes. Partner with internal communications functions to ensure external and employer-brand messaging consistency. This role requires 5+ years of experience in public relations or communications, preferably in life sciences, with proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office. Full-time remote position with 20-30% travel; occasional extended hours and weekends may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
- 5+ years of direct, relevant experience in a communications or public relations function providing a comparable background
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a public relations, communications, or social media management role
- Experience managing external communications in a regulated environment (FDA, pharma/biotech)
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical promotional regulations (e.g., FDA OPDP)
- Pre-approval communications constraints
- The distinction between promotional and non-promotional content
- MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review workflows
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Suite
- Familiarity with CRM
- Ability to conduct and hear ordinary conversation and telephone communication
- Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended work hours and/or extra work hours, sometimes on short notice as required
- Ability to work under specific time constraints
- Must be able to sit at desk, in meetings and/or work on a computer for long or extended periods of time
- Visual and manual acuity for working with computers and equipment
- 20-30% travel
- Compliance with Cook Policy & Guidance On Interaction with Healthcare Professionals
- Compliance with all policies of the company including without limitation the Cook Employee Manual, Cook Code of Conduct, Quality System Manual, Cook Electronic Information Policy and HIPAA regulations
