Job Summary

Lead legislative, regulatory, and political strategy for Lyft across the Mid-South and Southwest U.S., partnering with policymakers from across the spectrum to advocate for rideshare drivers and riders. Represent the company in interactions with elected officials, government staff, and community stakeholders while tracking relevant state, county, and municipal legislation. Draft comments, talking points, and memos for senior executives and manage external consultants and strategic relationships with third-party organizations. Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Communications, and Marketplace teams to develop market priorities and respond to government inquiries. Work in-office three days per week in Nashville, TN, with flexibility for up to four weeks of remote work annually.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of political, government, and/or government relations experience
  • Experience directly lobbying government officials on complex issues
  • Natural connector and relationship builder
  • Exceptional strategic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Proven self-starter with experience leading and winning on complex policy issues
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Attention to detail
  • Deep relationships with state and local policymakers, and community organizations
  • Lyft user / believer
  • Must be available for in-office work 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
  • Must be willing to work in-office at least 3 days per week following the establishment of a Lyft office in Nashville
