Job Summary
Public Information Specialist responsible for coordinating social media activity, outreach and promotional efforts, website maintenance, and multimedia production (print/electronic media, flyers, posters, reports). Duties include videography, photography, podcast production, event coordination and publicity, and tracking legislative activity. Requires delivering and managing media content, scheduling and coordinating episodes, production planning, and distribution of podcast/video/audio content; with strong emphasis on social media strategy, outreach, and public awareness efforts. A bachelor’s degree in a related field with 1–3 years (or 3–5 years in unrelated field) of experience is required, plus the ability to travel within Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys and to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays. Bilingual Spanish preferred; proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite/Canva; valid CA driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one to three years of related experience or Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and three to five years of experience
- Experience in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
- Experience in video production and recording
- Web site maintenance, design, and multimedia development
- Experience designing flyers, brochures, reports, and forms
- Outreach and event coordination
- Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid California driver’s license and transportation or acceptable substitute
