Job Summary
Public Information Clerk role handling customer service, cashier duties, and the full lifecycle of court documents—from intake and filing to docketing, Pro Se program support, and transcription coordination. Responsibilities include answering calls, routing inquiries, preparing and reviewing case files, managing electronic systems (eSR and docketing), processing court fees and payments, educating filers on filing requirements, creating educational materials, and ensuring data integrity and timely transcription delivery. Requires strong computer skills, excellent communication, and attention to detail; experience with Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is desirable.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a four year college degree is preferred
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience; legal or court experience is a plus
- Exceptional computer skills with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality assurance
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with case management, docketing, and filing procedures; ability to review documents for conformity with filing requirements
- Familiarity with electronic filing systems (eSR) and Pro Se processes
- Ability to prepare case files, process payments and ensure proper cash handling and balance
- Attention to detail, reliability, and being a team player
