Job Summary
Public Housing Assistant working part-time (24 hours) in Grapevine, TX, contract-to-hire. Under the Executive Director, handles day-to-day front-office operations for the Public Housing Program; manages relationships with residents, guides on leases and the housing program, and resolves resident concerns. Communicates with applicants about the waiting list; maintains waiting list documents; provides referrals to the public on alternative housing solutions. Uses property management software to track tenant information, rent payments, and maintenance projects. Performs HUD INSPIRE inspections, schedules vendors, and maintains relationships with service providers. Requires excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, ability to learn regulations and procedures, and proficiency with Word/Excel; able to work independently, multitask, and contribute in a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Some knowledge of housing and community development is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn and interpret regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to initiate work projects, work independently, and multitask effectively.
- Ability to work in a team environment, contribute as a team member, and treat coworkers and customers with respect.
